- At the city office polling station at Geleenstraat 25 in Heerlen, people with a visual impairment can use the tactile voting template and soundbox.
- At polling stations we pay attention to good accessibility. Unfortunately, 100% coverage in terms of accessibility is not possible. We communicate through the leaflet delivered to every household which polling stations are less accessible.
- Where accessibility problems may occur, we deploy an extra polling station member wherever possible. Think of a Vista student keeping watch at the door. At polling stations where the door does not open automatically, for example, we choose to have a student watch the door and offer support where needed. A voter with reduced mobility is then still given access to the polling station, and help if they wish.
- At almost every polling station we now provide at least one voting booth with mains-powered lighting. This ensures that the light does not fade during the day and, with extra lumen, that at least 1 voting booth is sufficiently lit. We also have a magnifying glass available at every polling station.
- We arrange the visibility of the polling stations at all locations with beach flags. We also put up signposts pointing towards the polling stations.
- All polling stations are supplied with a roll of black-and-yellow tape, so that they can make any small thresholds extra visible. In addition, all ballot boxes have black-and-yellow tape around the slot, so that it is hopefully easier to see.
